What You Need to Know About PRODA as a Centre Opreator

Heard about PRODA but not sure how it applies to your child care centre? KidsXap has provided information on this page to help you understand what PRODA is and what actions your centre must take.

What is PRODA?

As part of the new Child Care Management System (CCMS), a new online authentication system has been introduced. PRODA (Provider Digital Access) is hosted by the Department of Human Services and is designed to simplify authentication for child care centres and service providers.

Who Needs to Register in PRODA?

All fit and proper persons in the following roles must register in PRODA:

  • Individuals in charge of management or control of a centre
  • Individuals responsible for day-to-day operations, such as family day care educators
  • Service contacts
  • Family Day Care providers and In Home Care Educators

For more information on who needs to register in PRODA, click here.

When Must Registrations Be Submitted?

All individuals must be registered in PRODA by 2nd July 2018. If any individuals aren’t registered by this date, any care they provide after the 2nd of July will not be eligible for the Child Care Subsidy.

How Do You Register?

To register, personnel need to create a unique username and password. Details must be provided during the registration process in order to confirm identity. This can include documents such as a driver’s licences, passport or Medicare card. Once registered, an individual will receive a Registration Authority (RA) number that will be used to link them to child care centres and service providers.
